Cutting Edge Advanced Education Program Explores Critical Skin Care, Healthy Aging Topics

A comprehensive, product-neutral Advanced Education Program featuring more than three dozen conference sessions and workshops, as well as many of the industry’s top experts, will be a highlight of the Face & Body 2002 Spa & Healthy Aging Conference and Exhibition, September 28-30 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.

The conference kicks off on Saturday, September 28, with a thought-provoking keynote State-of-the-Industry address by Erica Miller, president of Expertise, Inc. Her address will be followed by detailed track highlights, presented by those spearheading the trends.

Exhibits
Driving the industry toward a total body rejuvenation approach to healthy living, this prestigious event offers a unique forum connecting professionals who serve the spa and salon, healthy aging and wellness, cosmetic and personal care, and fitness and nutrition industries.

Conference Program
The four-track conference program is scheduled for September 29-30, and covers the following four areas: Spa Trends, Healthy Aging/Wellness, Medi-spa and Business. Each track features eight sessions (four each day) covering a wide range of timely industry topics, and is designed to flow so attendees can either go to every session or select specific segments to attend:
• Spa Trends: focuses on the newest treatments and product trends for the spa industry.
• Healthy Aging/Wellness: addresses the incorporation of total-body wellness such as nutrition, fitness, holistics and alternative therapies into spa product offerings.
• Medi-spa: features sessions that primarily educate attendees about this new industry segment, as well as pinpoint trends.
• Business: focuses on real-world issues and solutions for business owners.

Pre-conference & Evening Workshops
In addition to the conference program, the 2002 Expo offers several preconference and evening workshops covering topics that complement the other sessions. Workshops scheduled to-date include:
• Ko-bi-do Japanese Facial Massage
• Building a Profitable Med-spa
• Myo Release (massage) for the Face
• Hands and Ears Reflexology

Special Events
• Evening Glamour Corrective Makeup Competition - Face & Beauty's first makeup competition for professionals and students, produced and sponsored by Professional Beauty Network and Makeup Artist Network. Both competitions will be held on Sunday, September 29, in the exhibit hall. Each contestant will receive a full-conference registration to Face & Body as well as the potential to win cash and other valuable prizes. Models will receive complimentary exhibit hall registrations.
• The competition will incorporate skin care preparation techniques (cleansing, toning and moisturizing). If you are a makeup artist – seasoned or just starting out – this is one competition you don't want to miss!

History of the Conference
Face & Body was started in 1992 and is the only industry event that offers a forum to connect spa industry professionals with their colleagues who serve the healthy aging, wellness, personal care, fitness, cosmetic and nutrition industries. It is owned and operated by Allured Publishing Corporation, a leading media company serving the global cosmetic, salon, spa, fragrance and flavor marketplaces.
