2019 Leadership Awards

On November 28, 2018 in NEW YORK, NY, The Specialty Food Association (SFA) announced its honorees for the 2019 Leadership Awards, and they are:

Miyoko Schinner, Miyoko’s, is honored for Business Leadership for pioneering a plant-based cheese revolution via her business, located in Petaluma, CA.

Patrick Mateer, Seal the Seasons, Chapel Hill, NC is honored for his Vision – founding Seal the Seasons to work with smaller farmers and make local food available year round.

Lisa Curtis, Kuli Kuli Foods, Oakland, CA is honored for Citizenship – leading her company to use the leaves of moringa trees to improve the lives of women in West Africa.

Attend SFA’s Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco and see the recipients accept their awards in a special ceremony on Sunday, January 13, 5:00-6:00 pm, then meet them during a reception.  Check-back for an updated report and interviews.

  • Nominations are made by SFA members and influencers in the specialty food industry. Honorees are selected from a slate of 30 candidates. The Leadership Award judges were association member-peers serving on the SFA Recognition Committee.
